Can use a phone call but cannot FaceTime for Mac
Can use a phone call but cannot FaceTime for Mac ====================================== Symptom -------- - I use FaceTime on El Capitan. - I can use FaceTime on iPhone. - On FaceTime on Mac I can choose "Call Using iPhone" but cannot FaceTime. - FaceTime Video and Voice icons are greyed out. - On FaceTime on Mac I can receive a FaceTime call from others but cannot call others from me. Cause -------- - You will find a local telephone number a card in your contacts, e.g. 090-1234-5678. - Local telephone numbers don't work on FaceTime on Mac. Solution -------- - You need to put **a country number** in your contacts, e.g. +44 for UK, +81 for Japan. - For instance a telephone number in Japan 080-1234-5678 should be changed into +81 80-1234-5678.
